Eradication of Tamils from Sri Lanka?Eelam Tamils are losing their lives in hundreds and many hundreds arebeing wounded and maimed due to the indiscriminate shelling and aerialattack on densely populated civilian targets and within security zonedeclared by the same Sinhala government. Within the few weeks of thisyear more than 1700 innocent Tamil civilians lost their lives.The attack is being continued unabated and the mass Tamil genocide istaking place in front of our eyes. The damage is not only to peoplebut to hospitals, schools, sacred temples. The internationalcommunity, especially in India are unaware of the true nature of thesituation and the reasons unfolded into the current turmoil. From thetime the present governance took over the rule of Sri Lanka, the Tamilcommunity was asking for a peaceful settlement, it's only the warmongering Sinhala Government which broke the international truce andstarted the war to eliminate the whole Hindu Tamil civilization fromSri Lanka. The foreign missionaries are looking the issue on theeconomic and political benefit.The government has ordered all international humanitarian agencies andmedia to move out. The dead bodies are left unattended and injuredpeople, unable to move are lying around everywhere. The wounded arefacing death since no hospitals are functional in that area, the SriLankan Defence Secretary himself telling any hospitals functioningoutside nofire zone are legitimate target.The makeshift hospitals inVanni that have been forced to relocate amidst artillery and aerialattacks that followed after Sri Lankan Defence Secretary's statement,struggling to treat the wounded, are operating under the trees andbunkers have been turned to wards to treat the seriously wounded. Asmedical facilities, both within and outside the government announcedsafe-zones have been targeted by the Sri Lankan Forces, some of thepatients at the makeshift hospitals have urged to place them insidethe bunkers. The make shift hospitals are functioning under pressingconditions without medical supplies and with the relentless shelling.Supplies for December 2008 and January 2009 are yet to be allowedinside Vanni by the Sri Lankan military.Nearly 250,000 people have been told by the army to confine themselvesto a stretch of 30 square km. A part of this terrain is marsh andjungle. People have flocked themselves in the remaining patches ofcoconut groves and they stay there without any amenities or food andwith the risk of being attacked even in the 'safety zone'.
